Elvio Cogno is located on top of Bricco Ravera, a hill near Novello in the Langhe area of Piedmont. This is one of the eleven municipalities where Barolo is produced. The cellar is set in an 18th century manor house, the farm is surrounded by 11 hectares of vineyards. The Cogno family has been making wine in the Langhe area for 4 generations. The history and tradition were passed on by father Elvio the innovation was introduced by his daughter Nadia and her husband Valter Fissore. They only grow native grape varieties: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nascetta.

Thanks to careful management of the vineyard, a low yield per hectare with respect for the biological balance, high-quality grapes are created. Balanced, elegant wines with a classic character.

In 2014, Elvio Cogno was voted “winery of the year” for the 4th (!) Time by the renowned American wine magazine “Wines & Spirits”. A very prestigious award that again places this winery among the top 100 best vineyards in the world.
