The craft of mouth-blown glass is in the DNA. The Sophienwald® head office is located in Nagelberg (Austria), where world-renowned mouth-blown glass has been manufactured since 1725. During its heyday, thousands of people worked in the glass industry and the most extravagant glass shapes were produced. The glass art from that region was in demand at the time and stood for the highest quality and know-how. In 2014, Engineer Gerhard Illek revived this tradition and started producing the best wine glasses in the world under the brand name Sophienwald®. He merged Design, Design and Technology with the traditional techniques from 1725.
