Description
This excellent Ruby Port introduces you to the "simplest" port of the "Shipper" Quinta do Noval, which more than proves its reputation as a top house. The delicious, young and powerful port is produced from a mix of the 5 best grape varieties from the Douro. In the vineyards of the Douro, 40 varieties can be found in the different classified vineyards. The port has a deep ruby red color, the scent offers primary fruit from the grapes and in the taste you can taste raisins, black forest fruits and a hint of southern fruits. An elegant, loby port with powerful fruit flavors and nuances of licorice, cocoa and vanilla. A wonderful long finale completes the enjoyment of this port.
Port is a special wine in all respects. The method of preparation is absolutely unique. The fermentation of the grapes only lasts until there is sufficient unfermented sugar for the taste. Wine alcohol is then added up to a level of around 20 degrees. The fermentation stops abruptly, the young port wine is born. It is just like port wine with port wine; there are simple basic wines and there are "Grands Crus". The Quinta do Noval port house is such a Grand Cru on the Douro and Pinhão rivers where the soil consists of slate and granite.

Quinta do Noval is located in the north of Portugal and is located in the Douro Valley. A breathtaking area due to the untouched nature. The vineyards are situated on steep slopes near the Douro River. Quinta do Noval has been producing port of remarkably good quality since the early 1700s. The port and winery has a large cellar carved in the mountains where the vineyards are also located. In this cellar, the port is aged in a barrel. The port is also bottled and shipped from this region. Under the inspiring leadership of its current owner, Christian Seely, a number of years ago were invested heavily in a new winery and an intensive vine replanting program. This allowed new developments to be combined with the old traditions that made Noval great. Quinta do Noval is well known for the Nacional Vintage port which is the rarest and most sought after port in the world. Only the very best grapes from only the very best vintages are processed here. The grapes are even walked barefoot by a group of people to the rhythm of music, in large fermentation tanks, the lagares. Naturally, the other port wines are also of excellent quality and therefore also worthy of the Quinta do Noval label. A number of excellent red wines have also been produced since 2004.
