Bellavista

Bellavista has belonged to the absolute top of Franciacorta since its founding in 1977. The winery is situated on the rolling hills around Lake Iseo and is internationally regarded as one of the producers that established Franciacorta's reputation as a quality region. All sparkling wines are produced using the traditional method, where long bottle aging ensures finesse, elegance, and complexity.

Alma Assemblage Rosé

This rosé consists of 56% Pinot Nero, supplemented with Chardonnay. The grapes come from approximately sixty carefully selected vineyards spread across Franciacorta.

For the final blend, 31 separate base wines from 22 different vineyards are tasted and brought together. In addition, reserve wines, including wine from 2021, are added to create extra depth and a consistent house style. This meticulous blending forms the heart of Bellavista and demonstrates why the house is known for its refined sparkling wines.

Vinification

After manual harvesting in small crates, the grapes are gently pressed, using only the first and purest juice. Approximately one-third of the base wines mature in oak barrels, which adds extra structure and complexity without losing freshness.

After blending, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the traditional method. Subsequently, the wine ages sur lie for at least 30 months. This long aging ensures a refined mousse, creamy texture, and subtle aromas of brioche and toasted bread. Thanks to the Extra Brut dosage of only 3.0 grams per liter, the wine remains dry, crisp, and particularly elegant.

Scent, taste and character

The wine has a beautiful dusty pink color with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose is expressive and elegant with aromas of rose petals, peonies, jasmine, and orange blossom, followed by notes of grapefruit, blood orange, blackcurrant, and raspberry. Behind these, subtle nuances of brioche, toasted bread, acacia honey, and fine spices develop.

On the palate, the wine presents itself as fresh, lively, and refined. Red fruit, citrus, and subtle spiciness are supported by a creamy mousse and beautiful minerality. The low dosage results in a dry style, while the reserve wines add extra depth and balance.

James Suckling awards the wine 91 points and praises the combination of strawberry, cherry, acacia honey, and lightly toasted bread. According to him, the lively acidity, the refined mousse, and the elegant structure create a particularly harmonious Franciacorta Rosé that offers immediate drinking pleasure.

The finish is long, fresh, and mineral, with refined notes of grapefruit, red berries, almond, and a subtle salty touch.
