Roxanne... wife of Alexander the Great, the unrequited love of Cyrano de Bergerac, and the eponymous subject of one of Sting's earliest and most famous songs. And now a delicious IGT from Tuscany, part of the portfolio of widely acclaimed wines produced at Il Palagio. The wines are organic and certified by BioAgricert.
Roxanne Bianco is a blend of 87% Vermentino, 10% Sauvignon, and 3% Viognier. The grapes are harvested by hand between August 15 and September 10. Fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and it ages on its lees for 5 months.
In the glass, the Roxanne Bianco has a straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, the wine is elegant, fresh, slightly floral with notes of citrus, a hint of pineapple, and very faintly in the distance, a touch of banana. On the palate, the freshness returns with a very pleasant acidity. This light, refreshing Bianco Toscana is a versatile and very drinkable wine. Delicious to serve as an aperitif and a perfect accompaniment to fish and vegetables.
