2024 Régnard Bourgogne Chardonnay
How does this wine taste?
How full and heavy the wine feels in your mouth, like the difference between skimmed milk and cream. More alcohol, sugar and oak ageing make a wine fuller.
How much sugar you taste, from dry to sweet. Fruity is not the same as sweet: a dry wine can taste of ripe fruit.
How fresh and juicy the wine is: acidity makes your mouth water. High acidity tastes lively and refreshing, low acidity soft and round.

Log inIn 1984, Baron de Ladoucette, a renowned winemaker from the Loire, purchased the Régnard estate in Chablis. Step by step, Ladoucette improved the quality of this estate, bringing it to the forefront of Chablis today. Presented in a unique bottle, just like Ladoucette's iconic Baron de L, this Chablis is for the true connoisseur. The vines are each over 30 years old, guaranteeing an elegant wine.
The history dates back to 1860, but in 1984 Baron Patrick de Ladoucette also became the owner here. The winery owns most of the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus in all of Chablis. While many Premiers Crus can be found in Chablis, there are only seven Grand Crus in the entire region, and all seven belong to the Régnard winery. In short, the winery possesses a magnificent collection of Chablis. Chablis is truly the ultimate comfort zone for Chardonnay. This is because it thrives here in a perfect terroir with an extremely suitable microclimate and a soil rich in limestone. The grapes come from their own vineyards and undergo careful selection. The grapes are hand-picked, followed by a twelve-month maturation period on the lees.
The Chardonnay grape is characterized by a beautiful yellow color with green accents in its youth. Fruity aromas (pear, lemon, peach, apricot) and floral notes (hawthorn, acacia) with sometimes a hint of honey. The taste is fresh, sometimes slightly mineral. The harvest is both manual and mechanical. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place at 20°C.
The Régnard Bourgogne Chardonnay color is shimmering with light green reflections. On the nose, the Régnard Bourgogne Chardonnay has fresh citrus aromas such as lemon and grapefruit. Pure and fresh on the palate with a fleshy texture, fruity aromas, and a crisp finish.

Wine features
Régnard is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It was founded in 1860 by Zéphir Régnard and in 1984, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette took over the domain, restoring and perpetuating the style and tradition of the wines. Régnard produces 7 Grand Crus Chablis (Les Clos, Bougros, Blanchots, Grenouilles, Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir), 5 Premier Crus (Fourchaume, Montmains, Vaillons, Montée de Tonnerre and Mont de Milieu), Chablis and Petit Chablis. In 1992, the Baron created a special cuvée called Grand Régnard, made from a selection of grapes from the best vineyards in Chablis, presented in a remarkably beautiful bottle, inspired by an old model from the 17th century.
