Description
The La Seca area, located in the heart of Rueda, is considered by many to be the Grand Cru area of Rueda. It lends itself like no other to the creation of these delicious wines from Bodegas Naia. In 2002, this winery was founded with the aim of becoming one of the world's best white wines. One of their visions regarding the wine process is to work with a selection of old vines of the indigenous Verdejo, some of which are more than 100 years old. The vineyard is owned by Bodegas Naia and is 21.4 hectares in size. Bodegas Naia has positioned itself well in the market in a relatively short period of time and has already won several awards. Almost every renowned Spanish restaurant has Bodegas Naia on its wine list. Bodegas Naia is proud of the production of its complex and terroir-driven wines with characteristic flavours and refreshing aromas.
The K-Naia is a blend of 85% Verdejo and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. In the glass, this beautiful Value for Money wine has a fresh light yellow color. In the nose, the wine has beautiful romas of tropical fruit with tones of fennel and freshly mown grass. In the mouth, the wine is fresh, lively and aromatic with a long aftertaste. This is a delicious wine with rice with fish, with white fish and oriental dishes. The wine has received rave reviews from Harold Hamersma and Hubrecht Duijker.

Bodegas Naia is located in the La Seca, a region considered the Grand Cru in Rueda. The bodega was founded in 2002, with the aim of making great white wines. Since then, the unique base has been home to very old native Verdejo, some even from the pre-philloxeric period. The vineyard is 21.4 hectares and contains vines that are more than a century old. The treasure of the Bodegas Naia lies in the vineyards, because in the beginning the winery could buy old plots of up to 130 years. The most important grape variety is of course the verdejo, but they also grow a small part of sauvignon blanc. They hired Cristina Bosch as an oenologist. She was apprenticed to the master of verdejo, Eulogio Calleja. It is now a fact that we have succeeded in making the grand cru among the Verdejos and this is also confirmed by the many high ratings that the wines receive
The bodega's assortment now includes four wines: the château wine Naia, the two young wines S-Naia and K-Naia and the showpiece Náiades. The latter is one of the best Spanish white wines. At Grandcruwijnen.nl we carry the chateau wine (the Naia Naia) that has received rave reviews in the Rueda tasting of the Volkskrant (July 2015) and of course the great Naiades which is made from plots of 100+ years old.
