2023 Jose Pariente Verdejo

José Pariente verdejo is one of the best Verdejo wines from Rueda. Complex fresh wine. Made from 30 year old vines, located on a high plateau between Rueda and La Seca. The grapes (100% Verdejo) come mainly from vineyards that have been family owned for more than 30 years. The vineyard is characterized by a platform of loose stones, is poor in organic material and has limestone outcrops at the higher levels.

The local climate, continental with an Atlantic influence, forces the vines to reach deep into the subsoil in search of water. During the winemaking process, a cold maceration takes place in the first phase for 8 to 12 hours. After a pneumatic pressing, the alcohol is fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel vats and the wine is left to mature on the lees until it is cleared. The wine is then filtered and bottled. Beautiful light color with almost some green tones. Rich and complex aroma of fruit such as pear, peach, citrus and passion fruit in combination with floral tones of wild flowers. Beautiful mineral with a refined spiciness. Very fresh and elegant wine with fresh fruit in the mouthfeel. Smooth, sweet and elegant with a slight hint of bitterness in the aftertaste, the wine is characterized by the typicity of the Verdejo grape. In our opinion, the Jose Pariente, together with the Shaya, Quintaluna and Vetus, are the Verdejo wines with the best price/quality ratio.
