2023 Groot Parys Die Tweede Droom Rooiklippe Chenin Blanc

The Groot Parys Die Tweede Droom Rooiklippe Chenin Blanc is a rare and complex wine, crafted by Angus Paul, with only 562 bottles produced. This exceptional wine comes from a unique vineyard plot, characterized by numerous boulders, planted in 1986. With vines now 37 years old, they are officially recognized as 'Old Vine'. The grapes are gently pressed in whole bunches, extracting only the best juice. Fermentation and maturation take place in old French oak barrels, during which the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. After about 10 months of aging, the wine is bottled and ready to enjoy.

In the glass this wine shows a sparkling golden yellow color. On the nose it offers seductive aromas of vanilla, walnuts, chamomile flowers, apricot, ripe peach and melon. The palate is equally enchanting with flavors of tropical fruit, mango, mandarin and honey, all enveloped in a round and elegant texture with hints of walnut, achieving a perfect balance.

This wine is now ready to drink and will remain delicious until the end of 2028. It pairs beautifully with savory vegetarian pies, fresh pasta with spicy sauce, grilled chicken with lemon, sweet and spicy dishes from Asian cuisine, and red flora or mild blue cheese.
