2023 Gerard Fiou Just Fiou Sauvignon Blanc

Domaine Gérard Fiou is a French family business in the eastern Loire region, founded by the ancestors of Gérard Fiou and taken over by the friendly Bourgeois family after his retirement. This family is a leading producer of Sancerre and Pouilly wines: their expertise is very profitable for the Domaine Gerard Fiou winery! Wine has been made in this area since the 15th century, monks have helped develop viticulture further. The terroir of the Domaine Gérard Fiou vineyard was considered too difficult for viticulture for a long time, but now all the wine growers in the area agree that this is the most interesting terroir of Sancerre AOP.

The 24-hectare estate has belonged to the Fiou family for several generations. The vineyards are planted on the exceptionally rich 'silex' soil in the area around Saint-Satur. This exceptional terroir provides optimum ripening for the grapes by storing the sun's heat and releasing it evenly at night. The estate is fully organic under the management of Gerard Fiou and has been officially certified since 2010.

The Gerard Fiou Just Fiou Sauvignon Blanc is an extremely refreshing and beautiful wine from the Loire with dashing aromas of citrus fruit, green apples and boxwood. The taste has a beautiful texture with some complexity and ends with a delicious juicy aftertaste.
