Description
When it comes to Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley is one of the very best. This large family estate boasts approximately 120 hectares of vineyards, including famous names like Gevrey-Chambertin, Pommard, Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chablis Grand Cru.
It is also a family estate with 10 hectares of Grand Cru and almost 25 hectares of Premier Cru. The first step was taken in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley; his son Joseph transformed the estate into a magnificent, top-tier company, and his wines became ambassadors for Burgundy wines worldwide. With a clear, elegant, and distinctive style, they produce wines that consistently fulfill the ideal of Burgundy. "A very high-quality estate, representing the full glory of French winemaking," writes the renowned French wine-writing duo Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve.
Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time-honored traditions practiced for centuries in its 19th-century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage benefits from special attention, making the cuvées unique. Each bottle is therefore a true reflection of its terroir.
The village of Rully has a long history of wine production. The reputation of the wines from this village is excellent. In 1629, King Louis XIII received 22 barrels of Rully wine as a gift during his trip to Chalon-sur-Saône. The white wines of Rully are today some of the most iconic wines of the Côte Chalonnaise. The white wines of Rully are today some of the most iconic wines of the Côte Chalonnaise. This Rully from the Les Villeranges vineyard is no exception. A beautiful Chardonnay with refined oak aging.
The vines are planted on limestone and clay soil. The vineyards, located in the Côte Châlonnaise, have an eastern exposure and were planted in 1987 and 1990. The grapes are hand-picked once they reach peak ripeness. After harvesting, they are taken to the cellars in Mercurey. Vinification takes approximately four weeks. The wines are aged in barrels for 11 months with regular battonage. This enhances the wine's aromatic complexity without losing its character and vibrancy. After clarification, the wine is transported to Nuits Saint Georges for bottling at the Domaine Faiveley headquarters. The Faiveley Rully Les Villeranges Blanc is a 100% Chardonnay with a mineral and smoky nose, along with aromas of ripe fruit. It is a pleasant wine with a round, soft and refreshing attack and is a delicious and handsome glass of white wine to enjoy and is an excellent accompaniment to fried white fish and shellfish.

The history of Domaine Faiveley dates back to 1825. The domain has been family-owned for 7 generations and is located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of Burgundy. 127 ha Vineyards, spread over Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, of which 12 vineyards with Grand Cru classification, 25 with Premier Cru classification and 6 vineyards with a "Monopole" classification. The estate is managed by Erwan Faiveley, who keeps the work in the vineyards in-house to control the quality of the grapes. The hand-picked harvest is carefully transported to 19th century vaulted cellars located in Nuits-Saint-Georges. To make great Burgundies, Erwan Faiveley combines the principles of modern oenology with traditional aging in French oak barrels. All this contributes to the fact that Faiveley wines are highly regarded.
