Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot are two very well-known winemakers from Burgundy and have joined forces in the South of France and have started working there and if this top level will work together then success is assured. The wines of Anne Gros and Jean Paul Tollot are of high quality and receive wonderful reviews in the press.

Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot is situated in the Causse which is without doubt the best part of the Minervois due to its altitude, which varies from 200 m to almost 500 m. This results in the lowest night temperatures in the Minervois and a slower thermal warming in spring.

La 50/50 Cotes du Brian is a cuvée born from the blending of 3 grape varieties into a serious wine and which shows how the three grapes reinforce and complement each other. The wine is a blend of Carignan, Cinsault, Grenache from vineyards between 25-40 years old. After maturing in stainless steel tanks, this wine is delicate, fruity and tense. Its calling is to be refreshing and fresh, glass after glass… during a meal or simply to enjoy. The fruit and the flavors must not be affected by wood notes and to get maximum flavors and scents, the aging is at a low temperature which allows everything to extract very nicely. The texture, the pure juicy exuberance and the persistent, dynamic interplay of minerality, saltiness, bittersweet nut oils and dark berries make the La 50/50 from Gros and Tollot a great wine that will prove to be very versatile in the years to come.

Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot are two very well-known winemakers from Burgundy and have joined forces in the South of France and have started working there and if this top level works together then success is assured. The wines of Anne Gros and Jean Paul Tollot are of high quality and receive wonderful reviews in the press. Dark, smooth wines, convincing and very well made. The use of very old vines gives these wines an unprecedented dimension and depth. We can highly recommend the wines from this house and we are convinced that you will not be as enthusiastic as we are.

The wines they make come from the sub-region de Minervois. The Minervois is one of the largest wine producing areas in the Languedoc Roussillon. From nearly 15,000 hectares of vines, 5,000 of which are intended for the production of AOC wines, the wide range of vins de table, vins de pays and wines from single grape varieties is completed by three different AOCS: the AOC Minervois, the AOC Minervois - La Livinière and the Muscat de Saint Jean de Minervois. The Minervois appellation is divided into 5 different zones: the balconies of the Aude, the Causse, the Mourels, the Petit Causse and the Terrasses.

Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot is located in the Causse which is without a doubt the best part due to its altitude, which varies from 200 m to almost 500 m. This results in the lowest nighttime temperatures in the Minervois and a slower thermal warming in the spring. The semi-mountainous climate of this zone is also characterized by heavier and more regular rainfall than in the Minervois in general. Another important feature of the Causse is the predominance of calcareous soils, which can lead to a very stony surface. Whether the stone is hard or soft, the whiteness it imparts to the soil indirectly heats the plants and grapes through radiation.

The wines of the Causse are often more lively than in the other zones and are characterized by its freshness and its mouth after tannins that take two to three years to soften.
