Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot are two very well-known winemakers from Burgundy and have joined forces in the South of France and have started working there and if this top level will work together then success is assured. The wines of Anne Gros and Jean Paul Tollot are of high quality and receive wonderful reviews in the press. Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot is located in the Causse which is without a doubt the best part of the Minervois partly due to its altitude, which varies from 200 m to almost 500 m. This results in the lowest night temperatures in the Minervois and a slower thermal warming in the spring.

The L'O de la Vie from Domaine Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot comes from an eight-year-old Syrah vineyard that covers two hectares. After manual harvesting, the Syrah grape bunches are selected, destemmed and lightly crushed. After a short soaking period, the temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation with wild (grape-specific) yeasts takes place in stainless steel tanks. About three weeks later, the grapes are pressed and 50% of the young wine is transferred to clean stainless steel tanks and 50% to used barriques, in order to undergo malolactic fermentation and mature. After 12 months, the wine is assembled and bottled without clarification or filtration.

The Anne Gros & Jean Paul L'O de la Vie consists of 100% Syrah from vintage 2018. In the glass, the L'O de la Vie is deep dark purple-red in color. In the nose aromas of ripe wild raspberries, black cherries, pepper and something of violets. In the taste palette tones of ripe small red-black fruit, juniper berries and a spicy touch, which are accompanied by a soft aftertaste

Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot are two very well-known winemakers from Burgundy and have joined forces in the South of France and have started working there and if this top level works together then success is assured. The wines of Anne Gros and Jean Paul Tollot are of high quality and receive wonderful reviews in the press. Dark, smooth wines, convincing and very well made. The use of very old vines gives these wines an unprecedented dimension and depth. We can highly recommend the wines from this house and we are convinced that you will not be as enthusiastic as we are.

The wines they make come from the sub-region de Minervois. The Minervois is one of the largest wine producing areas in the Languedoc Roussillon. From nearly 15,000 hectares of vines, 5,000 of which are intended for the production of AOC wines, the wide range of vins de table, vins de pays and wines from single grape varieties is completed by three different AOCS: the AOC Minervois, the AOC Minervois - La Livinière and the Muscat de Saint Jean de Minervois. The Minervois appellation is divided into 5 different zones: the balconies of the Aude, the Causse, the Mourels, the Petit Causse and the Terrasses.

Domaine Anne Gros & Jean Paul Tollot is located in the Causse which is without a doubt the best part due to its altitude, which varies from 200 m to almost 500 m. This results in the lowest nighttime temperatures in the Minervois and a slower thermal warming in the spring. The semi-mountainous climate of this zone is also characterized by heavier and more regular rainfall than in the Minervois in general. Another important feature of the Causse is the predominance of calcareous soils, which can lead to a very stony surface. Whether the stone is hard or soft, the whiteness it imparts to the soil indirectly heats the plants and grapes through radiation.

The wines of the Causse are often more lively than in the other zones and are characterized by its freshness and its mouth after tannins that take two to three years to soften.
