2022 Zuccardi Valles Malbec
It is said that the best Malbec wines from Argentina come from the Valle de Uco in Mendoza. Add one of Argentina's best producers like Zuccardi and you're in good hands! A really strong yet drinkable Malbec. Malbec, the grape that is so at home here and ripens beautifully. Black fruit, cassis, blackberries and a very ripe plum. Delicious in taste with some roasted notes, thyme, fennel seeds and rosemary. A wine with firmness and a nice bite. It is not without reason that Malbec is becoming so popular in the Netherlands. Excellent quality. Powerful and delicious for many moments. Zuccardi Vinhos did a great job!
Delicious with spicy fennel sausages from the grill, also very nice with slowly roasted meatloaf, which can then be pulled apart and enjoyed with a generous lick of barbecue sauce.
The Zuccardi family came to Argentina from Italy at the end of the 19th century. In the 1950s, Alberto V. Zuccardi, the father of current director José Alberto Zuccardi, started an irrigation company; a good choice, because virtually no agriculture and arable farming can take place in Argentina without irrigation. To prove how well the irrigation company worked, Alberto planted the first vineyards in Maipú in 1963. Ten years later, he purchased a new vineyard site east of Mendoza. His son José Alberto has been in charge of the wine company since 1985. The company has since built up an international reputation. For example, they have been chosen several times as 'The World Best Vineyard' in South America and the wines are rated with the highest scores, with even regular outliers of 100 Parker points.
