2022 Schäfer-Fröhlich Stromberg Riesling Grosses Gewachs

The Stromberg GG 2022 comes from porphyry soils - this is a magmatic rock. The 60 year old vines produce an extremely concentrated wine with deep minerality. Very bright, elegant and spicy on the palate. Full density with a hint of spice and a beautiful complex, salty aftertaste.

VDP (Verband Deutscher Pradikatsweinguter) Grosse Lage is the denominator for the very best German vineyards, which are precisely defined per plot. The VDP is an important organization with approximately 200 of the best wine growers in Germany. The VDP has mapped the quality of vineyards (and their wines) and divided them into Erste Lage and Grosse Lage, comparable to the Premier Cru and Grand Cru qualifications in Burgundy.
