Winemaker of Petit Balthasar and the big brother of Balthasar is Pierrick Harang. There is no family castle or extensive vineyards, but five generations of wine merchants and oenologists who all have the same passion to produce the best wines.

Pierrick and his family's roots lie in Algeria and after Algerian independence, his grandparents and parents gave up everything to flee to France. His father continued his knowledge and career in Champagne, working as a cellar master for the great champagne house GH. MUMM.

His range of wines, with a naturally lower alcohol content, are known for their delicious, fruit-driven and elegant wines. For purely qualitative reasons, he chose not to reduce the alcohol, but to work directly on the vines. Pierrick is a freak when it comes to picking on time, finding the right plots of fruit and above all to stimulate your senses!

The Petit Balthazar Merlot is the red version. The wine has a fresh dark ruby red color in the glass. In the nose tones of blackberries and cherries and a bit of espresso and liquorice. In the mouth the wine is fruity with a pleasant freshness with red and some dark fruit. Special about this red wine is the low alcohol content of only 11%. This red Petit Balthazar is a delicious standalone glass but also perfect with lasagna, pizza and with a platter with tasty sausage.
