Description
In the 1960s, Giuseppe Inama, the founder of this renowned winery, began purchasing small plots of vineyards in the heart of Soave Classico. The area was originally planted with the ancient "Graecanicum" (native to Greece) variety. This name was subsequently changed to "Garganega" in the local dialect. His idea was to gather only top-quality, old-vine Garganega vines and produce a wine from them capable of restoring Soave's reputation. Today, Inama is a benchmark for both white and red wines in Soave.
This Soave Classico Vigneti di Foscarino is a pure expression of Garganega, both fermented and aged in oak. Six months in barrique has developed the wine's natural structure and the generous sense of volume it displays on the palate. Apricot and passion fruit are followed by almond and light saffron spice. The palate is highly complex and multi-layered, with a silky almond cream as its base, building slowly and steadily through the long, very lingering finish. A touch of citrus remains on the finish. Never overpowering, medium-bodied, layered and silky, and thus perfectly balanced. Delicious with a chicken dish with roasted fennel and béchamel.
ABOUT SOAVE CLASSICO DOC
Soave is a small town in northern Italy, east of Verona. This small, fortified town is one of Italy's most beautiful white wine regions. Nestled against the foothills of the Alps, Soave offers stunning views of the Po Valley. One of Italy's finest white wines, with excellent aging potential, is produced here. The character of a Soave (Classico) is partly determined by the type of soil (terroir) on which the vineyard is planted. For this reason, a distinction is made between Soave DOC and Soave Classico DOC. A small portion of Soave Classico is also bottled as Soave Classico Superiore DOCG. This applies only to wines with lower vineyard yields and longer aging on lees.

Wijnhuis
Wine house Inama is located near the northern Italian city of Verona. The Inama family has been producing wines for more than 40 years and is the only activity that focuses entirely on them. Wijnhuis Inama is now run by Stefano and Guiseppe Inama, the 3rd generation, with the vision: producing various wines in which, despite the styles and trends of the moment, they mainly want to make wines where their vision of the beautiful country is sufficiently represented. . Therefore, an organic agricultural system is used because it produces better fruit. Wijnhuis Inama follows its own course and has therefore developed its own know-how, without consulting all kinds of experts and wine gurus. They believe in wine that generates emotions and therefore prefer to taste "blind".
