Description
California’s EOS takes its name from the Greek goddess of the dawn, Eos, who opened the gates of heaven each day, causing the sun to rise. Eos was cursed by Aphrodite for having an affair with Ares. Her punishment was an insatiable hunger for young men. At Eos – the winery – they are just as passionate as their namesake, but our insatiable hunger is healthier and focused on producing dense reds, complex whites and lush dessert wines.
The EOS Pinot Noir California is 100% Pinot Noir. The grapes come from various vineyards in California, including Sonoma County, Lake County and the Central Coast. The juice is fermented in a combination of stainless steel and new oak. In the glass, the EOS Pinot Noir is ruby red in color. In the nose, this fruit-driven wine is full of aromas of raspberries, cherries, spices and herbs. In the mouth, this is a juicy wine with lots of red fruit (strawberries, cherries), spices and soft notes of oak. Delicious with roasted pork, smoked ham. Also delicious with a pizza with tomato sauce and smoked sausage.

The Californian EOS refers to the name of the Greek goddess of dawn Eos, who opened the gates of heaven every day and made the sun rise. The goddess Eos was known to be very passionate about love: so are the winemakers of EOS, but in wine! Grapes have been grown in the Paso Robles area since 1797, and commercial wine production began in the 1880s. Over the past 20 years, the number of wineries has exploded from 20 to 200, as winemakers have come to realize the extraordinary potential of the terroir in the region. Today, Paso Robles is considered one of the most important appellations on the central coast for the blends of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache, Petite Sirah, and Rhône. Eos was founded in the mid-1980s by the Arciero family and has received rave reviews over the years for its Zinfandels, Cabernets, and dessert wines.
