Continuum Estate: family-run wine estate on Pritchard Hill

Continuum Estate is a leading winery in Napa Valley, founded in 2005 by Tim Mondavi, son of wine legend Robert Mondavi. Nestled on the renowned slopes of Pritchard Hill , the estate produces world-class wines derived from deep family roots, terroir-focused winemaking, and sustainable agriculture.

The vineyards are situated between 400 and 500 meters above sea level, on volcanic rock subsoil. The microclimate is characterized by sunny days, cool nights, and significant temperature fluctuations, which ensures a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes.

The white wine line Continuum Sentium Sauvignon Blanc

Sentium is Continuum's white wine line, launched to complement the estate's renowned red blends. The 2022 edition is composed of a classic combination of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon , inspired by the white wines of Bordeaux but with a distinct Napa character.

The grapes are sourced from the cool slopes of Pritchard Hill, with chalky, iron-rich soils that contribute to the minerality and structure. Yields are deliberately kept low to achieve maximum concentration and aromatic expression.

Vinification and maturation of Continuum Sentium Sauvignon Blanc 2022

The grapes are harvested by hand in the early morning to preserve freshness. Immediately afterward, they are gently pressed and cold macerated. Fermentation takes place partly in oak barrels (including used barriques) and partly in stainless steel, using natural yeasts. After fermentation, the wine is aged "sur lie" for eight months, with regular bâtonnage for added creaminess and depth. This approach results in a wine that is both fresh and complex, with structure and a refined texture.

The wine has a clear, light golden color. The nose reveals refined aromas of lemon peel, lime blossom, green herbs, and subtle toast . The Semillon influence gives the wine roundness and depth. On the palate, Sentium is taut and mineral, with lively acidity and layers of citrus, white peach, and wet stone. The finish is long, with a subtle saltiness and elegant oak notes.
