Description
Three young, but already very famous winemakers - Fernando Garcia ( Bodegas Marañones ) , Daniel Gómez Jimenez Landi ( Bodegas Jimenez Landi ) and Marc Isart ( Bodegas Bernaveleva ) - are responsible for the Comando G with the aim of further developing the Madrid Region de Grenache grape to develop. All three winemakers make Top Grenaches under their individual labels that can rival the famous Chateaneuf wines, especially when you consider the price. The area is ideal for the Grenache (high, warm during the day with significant cooling, large limestone soil). Their vines are rooted in mainly granite soil vineyards at an altitude of at least 800 meters and are between 50 and 80 years old. Comando G was the name in Spain for one of those Japanese cartoon series from the 80's. Daniel Landi and his friends used this and Comando G stands for Comando Grenache where their mission is to make the best Grenache in the world. This is one of the most exciting new projects in Spain!
The 2022 Comando G Rozas Vino de Pueblo undergoes careful vinification, using both concrete and wooden barrels. This results in a natural and authentic expression of the grapes. With an aging period of 10 months in Foudre wooden barrels, the wine achieves a good balance between fruity liveliness and refined complexity.
Bottling takes place without fining or filtration, preserving the pure essence of the wine. The vines, with a respectable age of 90 years, contribute to the depth and concentration of the flavor. The vines are rooted in a diverse soil composition of granite, sand and silt.
With Mediterranean influences and located at an altitude of 900 meters, the grapes receive optimal conditions for growth. This contributes to the freshness and expressive nature of the wine.
