2022 Château Gloria St-Julien

Chateau Gloria has a vineyard of 50 ha with its deep "graves" by the deposits of the river Gironde. The real lovers of St. Julien wines know this cru as one of the best, non-classified wines from St. Julien. Partly because of their consistently good quality, this cru now belongs to the "Union des Grands Crus" with the advantage that this St Julien is still very affordable.

The Château Gloria consists of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon , 35% Merlot , 9% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc which has been aged for 14 months on French oak of which 40% are new and 60% 1-year old barriques. In the glass the wine has a deep garnet red color. In the nose fresh fruit, plums, cherries, dark chocolate with a hint of tobacco, bay leaves and lavender. The taste is medium-bodied, elegant and savory in the mouth with many layers and a beautiful finish.

Saint-Julien is one of the most famous red wines of the growing region of Bordeaux. The controlled appellation area includes wines from the commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle in the Medoc and covers an area of 3.5 to 4 km. It is located about 10 km north of Margaux on the Gironde, and borders directly on Pauillac to the north.
