From the southern corner of South Australia we find the Redheads Harmonie Rox Chardonnay that lives mainly in a world dominated by red wines. This Harmonie Rox comes from the Coonawarra appellation, very famous as the place for the best Cabernet Sauvignon in Australia. Surprisingly, Coonawarra is even cooler than Bordeaux and offers almost ideal growing conditions for wine grapes. Terra Rossa, named for its red color caused by iron oxide, provides excellent drainage and is widely regarded as a crucial part of Coonawarra's success as a wine-producing area, thus also a place where the Chardonnay grape has an almost Burgundy style. Elegant, nice acidity, good storage potential and can age well

The Chardonnay grapes come from the single vineyard Harmony Rox 2021 of the same name. It is a very compelling Chardonnay located in Coonawarra which is a cool climate region located at the same latitude as the Yarra Valley, which is known for the production of world-class Chardonnay. However, the Coonawarra offers a limestone bed (like Burgundy) which contributes to Harmonie's vibrant and delicious flavour. The Harmony Rox Chardonnay grapes are fermented and aged in French oak barrels and partly in stainless steel to maintain freshness.

Delicious notes of white peach and nectarine with hints of mandarin. Elegant, dry and complex with a citrus mandarin aftertaste. This is a very nice Chardonnay with an excellent price-quality ratio. Perfect with a cheese board with dried apricots and honey.

Vineyard for 2021 Redheads Harmonie Rox Coonawarra Chardonnay

Redheads Studio winery is located in South Australia in the town of Tanuda, in the Barossa Valley where the dedicated team behind Redheads work tirelessly, from the vine to the bottle and beyond, to ensure the wines can always be in their best condition drunk.

It all started with a few Aussie winemakers who went to France to show the 'old hands' some new tricks there. Australian wine had conquered the world in the 1970s and 1980s. That's why Tony Laithwaite brought some Aussies to France. It was there that the very beginning of RedHead's new viticultural movement was laid.
In a small shed in McLaren Vale, a former Indian restaurant, some winemakers took on the challenge of making their dream come true: making beautiful, creative wines in small volumes with primary focus on quality.
They wanted to make wines without being bothered by all kinds of business worries, which resulted in an explosion of creativity and experiments.

Meanwhile, winery Redheads is making great international progress and they still give young talents the opportunity to let their creativity and talents loose on the best grapes in the region. Redheads Wines says of itself: “A free-spirited, movement liberating the best grapes from the premium labels to make wines with soul, character and personality”
