Description
Dumanet wines are the house wines of several Michelin-starred restaurants. Due to the condition of being allowed to carry these wines, we are not allowed to disclose the names of these restaurants, but they are well-known names, and we can certainly understand why people enjoy working with Dumanet wines. The quality is excellent, the price is very attractive, and the style in which the wines are made makes them highly appreciated by almost everyone.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grape has now established itself in the Languedoc. Finding the right soil is always a challenge, but in places with poorer soil, this grape ripens under near-ideal conditions. The grapes come from vineyards around the cities of Narbonne, Béziers, and Montpellier. The climate here is warm enough to allow the Cabernet skins to ripen properly, giving the wine from this classic Bordeaux grape a wonderfully round and supple character. It's made for its fruit, with plenty of power and a lovely suppleness. Classic, yet beautifully ripe and smooth. A successful example of what the Pays d'Oc has to offer in delicious reds.
The Dumanet Merlot has a medium ruby red color in the glass. The nose reveals hints of laurel and licorice, a delicate peppery note, sultry and open, wonderfully fragrant, and pleasantly seductive. On the palate, the wine is spicy with an elegant style, jammy, warm, and slightly peppery, pleasantly rounded, and delightfully smooth.
FACT : The label depicts two men cycling, evoking the beautiful bike rides through the vineyards. In the past, the winemaker would cycle through the vineyards with the idea of one day making a top-notch wine. Well, many years later, they've succeeded.
