Clos de l'Obac is the place where the first great Priorat wines were made. A couple of young idealists, passionate and with little financial resources, who, together with their wives, decided to devote themselves to winemaking in a small town of two hundred inhabitants called Gratallops, located in the Priorat region. A project that, years later, became the economic engine of the entire region through the production of high-quality wines that are today internationally known and recognized. This region evolved from the poorest corner of Catalunya to the bustling place it is today (at least in terms of winemaking). The New Priorat marked the end of an economic and social depression that lasted for a hundred years as a result of the Phylloxera. Although the creation of the Clos de l'Obac winery was not official until 1987, strictly speaking the project began in 1979, when Carles Pastrana and Mariona Jarque, together with some friends from Tarragona, discovered old vineyards Garnacha and Cariñena in the village of Gratallops started recuperating and replanting, with varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot.

The first harvest of the new Priorat was 1989, which came on the market in 1991 and from which one cuvée was made for all members. It is the composition of that first cuvée that is still used 30 years later to make Clos de l'Obac: Garnacha, C. Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Cariñena. From the first harvest, the wines had a great international impact and in just 5 years Priorat was at the top of the wine world. The great asset of all this was a unique terroir that the world had rediscovered: the Priorat of Scala Dei, that of the Chartreuse monks, mentioned in many documents centuries ago. In 1991, Clos de l'Obac acquired Mas d'En Bruno, a historic finca founded in the 13th century, close to Clos de l'Obac, from which the grapes come

The Kyrie is one of the most beautiful unique white wines from Spain. This wine from the Priorat is a blend of 40% Garnatxa blanca, 40% Macabeu, 16% Xarel.lo, 4% Moscatel de Alejandria. The Kyrie 2020 from winery Clos de L'Obac has a golden yellow, amber color in the glass. A very specific nose of patisserie, marzipan, touch of honey with a soft butter and green herbs. Oily on the palate with good acidity and aromas of citrus, apricot and pineapple and notes of caramel, honey, cedar and brioche. Ending with a grand finale and the potential to age very nicely and for a long time. a serious wine for the serious wine lover.
