Description
The Jermann Red Angel comes from a vineyard located at Monte Fortino on a soil of colluvial material. This explains the great minerality. The wine is a 100% Pinot Nero or Pinot Noir. After picking and fermentation in cooled stainless steel, part of the wine matures in small oak barrels
In the glass, the Red Angel has a fine ruby red color. The aroma is intoxicating, well orchestrated and slightly herbaceous. The Pinot Nero variety is distinguished by elegant finesse. The taste is delicate, elegant and full, and it is slightly sweet and balanced. The Red Angel is delicious with Central European dishes and with oven-baked fish dishes. Due to its delicacy, it is very much appreciated in dishes with white truffle. this is a wine (like all Pinot Noirs) that should be drunk slightly chilled. For us this is one of the best Pinot Noirs from Italy.
ABOUT JERMANN
One of the top producers from Friuli and one of the most famous makers of Italian white is undoubtedly Silvio Jermann. The Jermann family domain is located in the extreme northeast of Italy in the hilly region of Friuli, near the Slovenian border, in the DOC Collio, and dates back to 1881. Since Silvio, the third generation, took the helm in 1975, there has been an enormous rotation has taken place. By continuously investing and making optimal use of the sandy and marl-containing soil so suitable for the white grape varieties, he expressed his urge to innovate, with fantastic results as a result. This made him a worldwide phenomenon. Elegance, depth, richness, structure and minerality characterize these wines, which are served in many starred restaurants worldwide.

A Northern Italian expression of Chardonnay, the 2014 Where Dreams Have No End is smoky, flinty and mineral driven. The nose is slow to open, but it does eventually get there with some coaxing and swirling of the glass. Indeed, my sample needed extra oxygen before the bouquet started to sing loud. Up to 11 months in French oak gives the wine a sultry texture and toasted notes of almond and pine nut.
