Château Doisy-Védrines 2024

The Château Doisy-Védrines 2024 is a beautiful, classic Sauternes and comes from the respected second cru classé house.

An exceptional year for noble rot

The harvest took place between 19 September and 24 October 2024, a period in which the grapes were able to take full advantage of Barsac’s ideal microclimate. The presence of botrytis cinerea was excellent and allowed the team to select the best bunches in four selective picking rounds (“tris”). The result is a wine with opulent aromas, refined sweetness and a fresh, lively structure.

Grapes and blending of the Doisy-Védrines

The blend consists of:

  • 84% from Sémillon , which provides structure, body and ripe tropical fruit,

  • 14% Sauvignon Blanc , which adds freshness and tension,

  • 2% Muscadelle , which provides floral accents and finesse.

After vinification, the wine was matured 50% in new French oak barrels, which adds a subtle woody note to the aromatic intensity.

Taste profile and style of the 2024 Doisy-Védrines Sauternes

The 2024 Doisy-Védrines stands out with its rich nose of candied apricot, orange peel and honey, with floral hints and a touch of spices. On the palate, the wine is opulent yet fresh, with an alcohol content of 13.5% , a residual sugar content of 125 g/L and a total acidity of 4.65 g/L . This balance creates a lively mouthfeel that invites you to take the next sip.

This vintage produced 45,000 bottles of Grand Vin, representing 70% of the total harvest.
