About Champagne Siret Frère & Sœur

The champagne house Siret Frère & Sœur is a small-scale producer working with its own vineyards in the finest crus of Champagne. The Siret siblings are committed to the pure expression of terroir, crafting champagnes with natural elegance and minimal intervention. Their style is characterized by tension, structure, and freshness, with each wine reflecting the character of its vintage. With limited production and a fully artisanal approach, Siret Frère & Sœur is part of a new generation of winemakers who approach Champagne as an authentic wine rather than simply a celebratory drink.

The Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut 2018

The Millésime Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut 2018 is a cuvée that combines the intensity of Pinot Noir and the elegance of Chardonnay. For this rosé, the house uses the traditional saignée method, briefly macerating the grapes on the skins. This gives the wine its natural deep pink color and added structure. The base of the wine comes from the excellent 2018 vintage, known in Champagne for ripe, healthy grapes with great concentration and balance. Thanks to the extra brut dosage of less than 6 grams of sugar per liter, the wine retains its pure and energetic character.

Vinification and style

The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously selected. After a short maceration on the skins, they are gently pressed and subjected to temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. A portion of the base wine is then aged on the fine lees for added complexity. The second fermentation in the bottle is slow, followed by a long aging sur lattes. The limited dosage preserves the freshness and allows the natural fruit expression to fully express itself. The result is a champagne that combines power and refinement, with a distinct gastronomic profile.

Color, smell and taste

The Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut 2018 displays a vibrant salmon pink color with coppery reflections. The nose reveals aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, blood orange, and subtle floral notes. With aeration, nuances of almond, spice, and a hint of brioche emerge. On the palate, the wine is expressive, full-bodied, and precisely balanced. The ripe red fruit is carried by a refined mousse and a lively, mineral freshness. The finish is long, complex, and dry, with a subtle spicy note and an elegant tension that invites the next sip.

A gastronomic Champagne

The 2018 Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut is a champagne for the serious connoisseur. It is rich and layered, yet never heavy. It pairs beautifully with refined dishes and can effortlessly accompany a meal. Thanks to its ripe fruit, depth, and structure, this rosé also has excellent aging potential. After several years in the bottle, it will further develop in complexity and texture. For those seeking an expressive and characterful rosé champagne, this is a wine that will impress, both at the table and in the cellar.

Wine and food pairings

  • Tuna tartare with sesame and soy sauce – the salty character of the fish and its umami profile perfectly complement the fresh structure of the champagne.

  • Beetroot and goat cheese risotto – the earthy notes and creaminess of the risotto are refreshed by the lively mousse and mineral finish.
  • Veal tenderloin with raspberry sauce – the elegance and dry style of the champagne support the fruity element of the dish without being overpowering.
