Description
They are among the secret heroes of the international wine world: vintners such as the quality-seeking Carlos Figueiredo, who values his native Dão and the local terroir, but also produces world-class wines. In his wines, wine lovers will find the individuality that is often lost in times of increasing globalization of wine taste: authentic, traditionally prepared wines with a radiant regional character, made from indigenous grape varieties in a small edition.
Quint da Falorca is seen as the undisputed best winery from the Portuguese Daõ with a beautiful range of wines that are all only produced in small quantities. The T-NAC is made from the typical Portuguese top grape Touriga Nacional and comes from 31 different clones of more than 40 years old vines.
The grapes were picked by hand, the stems were removed and lightly crushed, after which the free-flow juice was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then matured for several years in barrel and bottle. The T-Nac has a deep red color with intense flavors of National Touriga, with its famous expression. It has a floral bouquet, excellent structure with firm and elegant tannins very well balanced with the oak. This is a modern, complex and intense wine full of ripe fruit, lively acidity and a finish that lingers on the palate.
The wine is only made in the good years and the 2016 is the successor of the beautiful 2010. Only 6,440 bottles of T-Nac have been produced.
The Wine Advocate writes about this wine: ".......It's a super T-nac now" and writes about Falorca: "One of the region's highest-quality boutiques, this winery produces only about 70,000 bottles per year. I love their structured and expressive reds in particular"

The 2016 T-nac is unoaked Touriga Nacional, featuring some 30 different clones of the grape. It comes in at 13.5% alcohol. This is the first T-nac I've seen since the 2010—the winery stopped making it for a while. When last seen, it was glorious in its freshness but not exceptional in other areas like structure. With some more bottle time, this has fleshed out and seems more substantial in the mouth. The tannins are still ripe and this can be drunk young without guilt. The fruit evolved nicely. Plus, it is very fresh. That makes this tasty, pure and lingering on the finish. It's a super T-nac now.
One of the region's highest-quality boutiques, this winery produces only about 70,000 bottles per year. I love their structured and expressive reds in particular.

Located in Pindelos or Silgueiros, Quinta da Falorca is the reference model and top wine house from the Portuguese Dão. No volumes but only quality. It is therefore quite difficult to get a Quinta da Falorca and especially their high-end wines. This is due to a number of factors, namely:
- unprecedented fine wines
- made in very small quantities
- and still very affordable
