Domaine Roches Neuves was founded by Thierry Germain, now a very famous and renowned winemaker, at the young age of 23. He did this to make his ultimate dream of making beautiful wines in his own winery come true. The wines are generally soft, intense and concentrated in the mouth. They are also perfectly balanced, full of finesse and refreshing vitality.

This Amphore Rouge Outre Terre is beautifully bright red in color, floral on the nose with beautiful peony aromas and mineral. A fruity taste (apple, citrus fruit) fills the mouth. The wine is full and dense with a very long finish where a slight bitterness provides some freshness. The wine is made in amphora barrels that were kept in the cellar of the winery. The amphora wines from Thierry Germain first appeared in 2013. This Outre Terres comes from 0.6 hectares of 20-year-old vines rooted in the sand above a limestone layer in Jeune de Carrefour - within walking distance of the outskirts of Saumur. The wine stays for 800 months for fermentation and maceration in 800 liter Georgian amphora barrels. Afterwards, the wine receives an upbringing of about 12 months in oak barrels.

This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, and the vines are surrounded by Domaine Roches Neuves with the utmost care. Which of course fits entirely within their philosophy: winemaking with deep respect for nature and the environment. That is why this winery has consciously opted for a biodynamic method. And of course you can also taste this in the great wines produced by this winery. The vineyards are located in the middle wine region of the Loire Valley: Saumur-Champigny. In this area, located along the Loire, about an hour's drive southeast of Angers, the Cabernet Franc shows its potential for subtly layered nuances of expression. The climate is relatively mild and the southern location of the vineyards ensures that the grapes quickly reach full maturity.
