We can offer these gems directly from the wineries at very attractive prices (well below market), often wines that are no longer available or unaffordable. So, the wines come directly from the wineries and haven't traveled halfway around the world in questionable circumstances.

The Château La Fleur de Gay estate and its history
Château La Fleur de Gay is located in the heart of Pomerol, one of Bordeaux's most prestigious appellations. The estate is family-owned and has been involved in winemaking on the Right Bank for generations. The estate was created from a selection of exceptional plots of old vines, primarily planted with Merlot. The estate's philosophy revolves around precision, low yields, and maximum expression of terroir. Its location on the high terraces of Pomerol allows it to benefit from an ideal combination of soil structure and microclimate.
Soil, location and climate in Pomerol
The vineyards of Château La Fleur de Gay are situated on clay soils, topped with layers of gravel and ferrous elements. This composition offers perfect drainage and deep minerality, ideal for Merlot. Bordeaux's temperate maritime climate, with warm summers and mild winters, ensures balanced ripening. The estate benefits from a favorable location on the higher plateaus, which ensures ample air circulation and temperature differences between day and night.
Grapes, vinification and maturation
The 2015 Château La Fleur de Gay is blended from almost 100% Merlot, sourced from old, low-yielding vines. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled concrete vats, with gentle extraction to preserve the fruit's finesse. Maturation lasts approximately 18 months and takes place entirely in new French oak barriques. This approach produces a wine with structure, depth, and excellent aging potential.
The 2015 vintage: character and potential
The 2015 vintage is one of the strongest years of the past decade in Bordeaux. Conditions were practically ideal: a warm, dry summer and a harvest under stable conditions produced ripe, healthy grapes with high aromatic concentration. The wine is powerful and rich, with a striking balance between extraction and freshness. The tannins are firm yet ripe, resulting in a wine that is approachable now, but can also easily age for another ten to twenty years.
Color, odor and flavor profile
The color is deep ruby red with a purple hue. On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, and blueberries, followed by notes of dark chocolate, graphite, cloves, and a subtle oakiness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated, with velvety tannins and a core of dark fruit. The texture is creamy, with a long, precise finish that leaves impressions of minerality, cocoa, and a hint of licorice.
Who is this wine particularly interesting for?
This wine appeals to the professional sommelier seeking a Pomerol with depth and aging potential, but is equally appealing to the private collector or wine investor. Thanks to its limited volume and excellent vintage, this wine is a must-have for both restaurant menus and private collections. The 2015 combines classic Pomerol opulence with modern refinement.
