Wine has been produced on the cliffs in this scenic region since the Celts and Gallo-Romans inhabited the area. Today, this region is part of the Côte de Beaune, where wine is produced from both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Its 97.19 hectares (240 acres) of vineyards are planted at an elevation of 400 meters (1,310 feet), making it one of the highest and coolest regions in the area.
