What does wine from the Mavrud grape taste like?

It is a very old variety and produces deep ruby red wines, full of tannins and refreshing acidity. In the aromas you will find blackcurrants and mulberries, with further ripening shades of cocoa and chocolate. To get the best out of the grape, maturation in oak barrels is almost inevitable.
