The Language of Yes

Randall Grahm has a long history of reimagining the traditions of France in a distinctly personal way. The Language of Yes (a distinctly odd name) is Randall's next chapter. An ongoing exploration of California's central coast through small wine experiments coming from a deep love for the country. If the grapes and the soil have anything to say at all, we can't imagine a more faithful interpreter, say the international wine evaluators, because the wine from the winery The Language of Yes is unprecedentedly beautiful but almost impossible to get in the Netherlands (read Europe). 

Winemaker Randall Grahm lost his heart to great wines from the Rhône and the South of France a long time ago and was determined to make these cult wines in the USA as well. He then earned his spurs as owner/winemaker of Bonny Doon. Wines that almost don't leave the USA because the demand there is greater than the supply. Randall has now started a new domain, called: The Language of Yes (from: La Langue d'Oc) Classic style terroir driven Syrah and Grenache wines with labels as idiosyncratic as Randall himself. 

With the introduction of The Language of Yes GRENACHE & SYRAH, the extremely unusual practice of air-drying the grapes after harvest was adopted. The grapes from the Rancho Réal vineyard was an experiment in phenol extraction and a realization of the intention not to slavishly replicate the wines of southern France, but rather to find the unique characteristics of California's Central Coast climate and terroirs.
