Nosiola

The Nosiola or Nusiole grape is found in Trentino, in the north of Italy. The name probably comes from the Italian word "nocciola" or hazelnut. Some sources refer to the colour of the ripe fruits, but others to the nutty taste of the vin santo made with this wine. 

What does wine from the Nosiola grape taste like?

Nosiola produces very aromatic, light wines that can have a slightly bitter note. As a dry varietal wine, these notes can include flavors of citrus, apricot, and peach, as well as a characteristic subtle hazelnut note.
