The Greco is a family of grapes that can be found in the south of Italy. The Greco di Tufo and the Greco Bianco are the best known. The Greco di Tufo gives luscious, mouth-filling white wine. The Greco di Bianco is only in a few vineyards. It has a slightly more neutral taste, but is also highly regarded. The Greco di Tufo can be found in Campania, near Naples. For example, on the beautiful island of Capri. The Greco Bianco is located further south. For example, in Calabria. Some winemakers dry the grapes to make refined sweet wine. As the name suggests, the Greco is of Greek origin. Once upon a time, the ancient Greeks had a settlement in present-day Italy, near Naples.

What does Greco wine taste like?

The grape invariably produces fresh and tight white wines with aromas and flavors of white peach and pear, in the best wines sometimes supplemented with a good dose of minerality and acidity.
