Description
Honor Cava Brut Selecció by Jan Vidal comes from the Cava appellation and is a blend of Xarel lo, Macabeu and Parellada which has matured for 14 months on its yeasts (sur lie or sobre lias) and the dosage (residual sugar) of this Cava Brut is only 6 grams per liter. This delicious accessible elegant Cava has a straw yellow color and greenish hues and fine and persistent bubbles. Accentuated aroma of grapes, fresh with notes of ripe fruit and citrus, typical of long maturation in the bottle. In the mouth it has an important liveliness compensated by a pleasant balance and elegance.
Jan Vidal's cavas are produced according to the méthode traditionnelle or méthode champenoise. Can be drunk very well on its own. Also tastes delicious with fish and seafood, salads, rice and pasta dishes, Asian dishes, spicy dishes and with most starters.
Valuation:
Gold medal winner at the Berlin Wine Trophy 2021 for best Cava.
Silver medal winner at the Catalan wine competition ''Vinari'' 2021 for best Cava, in the category ''aging up to 18 months''.

In the heart of the Spanish region of Penedès, just south of the city of Barcelona, is Celler Jan Vidal. It is located in the municipality of Castellet I la Gornal, in the province of Barcelona. The bodega has a relatively long family history of winemaking. Founded in 1970, Celler Jan Vidal is led by Xavier Mañé and produces a selection of Cavas and still wines. The vineyards are worked sustainably, even organically on some plots. The grapes are hand selected and picked. The Jan Vidal vineyards are located in the center of the Baix Penedès just a few meters above sea level. The soils are calcareous and chalky and give aromatic, fresh cavas with a full taste. The cavas were already well known and popular in Spain, but it has received an extra boost since Jan Vidal's cavas are served in the Business Club of FC Barcelona.
