Laura Catena—daughter of the renowned wine pioneer Nicolas Catena —created the La Posta wine series to give Mendoza's smaller winemakers a platform of their own, rather than a nameless niche within the local cooperative. The wines are named La Posta, after the typical local roadside pub you'll find everywhere here.

Domingo Fazzio, also known as the dancing farmer who loves women, is the third generation. His Italian grandfather traveled to Argentina in 1917 seeking a better life. Domingo expanded the family business in 2005 and purchased 100 hectares of land in Tupungato, where this wine originates. He named it "El Nuño Francisco" in honor of his father. The soil consists of loamy soil with a chalky, stony subsoil, conducive to root development and good drainage. The vineyard, in the Uco Valley, is ideally situated at an altitude of 1,100 meters, on the Tunas River, from which the irrigation water originates. Due to the vineyard's high altitude, it produces a wonderfully intense Malbec. The wine is aged for one year in used French oak barrels, with the remainder in stainless steel tanks. This beautifully rounds out the wine, resulting in a delicious, generous, and complex red wine.

The vineyard's high altitude makes for a wonderfully intense Malbec. La Posta Fazzio Malbec (Domingo Fazzio) boasts concentrated black fruit notes, with vanilla, toasted notes, and balsamic notes. The flavor is ripe and peppery, powerful and intense, with good acidity thanks to the altitude. A powerful and intense red wine. Delicious with merguez sausages, grilled ribeye, lamb roulade with rosemary, and mature cheeses.

In the Argentinian tradition, La Posta is a tavern where the (wine) farmers come together for a glass of wine, to share stories about the harvest and of course for their daily siesta. Each La Posta label illustrates a story of these individual families. One sip full of flavor and you will welcome these breeders into your own family, into your glass and into your heart.

Angel Paulucci, from car mechanic to owner of a vineyard.

The Pizzella Family, for the love of nature, these two teachers have left town.

Domingo Fazzio, the dancing winegrower who loves women.

Estela Armando, from Italy to share wine with the trans-European railway workers
