Description
Dumanet wines are the house wines of several Michelin-starred restaurants. Due to the condition of being allowed to carry these wines, we are not allowed to disclose the names of these restaurants, but they are well-known names, and we can certainly understand why people enjoy working with Dumanet wines. The quality is excellent, the price is very attractive, and the style in which the wines are made makes them highly appreciated by almost everyone.
The Viognier grape originates in the northern Rhône region, but it proves to be more than excellent in the Languedoc. Moreover, many wine drinkers are now seeking alternatives to the ubiquitous Chardonnay. The soft wines based on Viognier from the south of France are proving to be an attractive and affordable alternative. This grape produces wonderfully full-bodied and juicy wines here, with tropical fruit and a beautifully supple character. The grapes come from vineyards around the cities of Narbonne, Béziers, and Montpellier, from members of the Vignerons du Narbonnais cooperative, the dynamic winery of Narbonne and the surrounding area. The fine clay soils of these vineyards produce a wonderfully soft wine bursting with tropical fruit.
The Dumanet Viognier has a pale straw-yellow color in the glass. The nose is powerful, with pleasant notes of apricots, acacia blossom, almonds, and fine white fruit, broad and complex. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and aromatic, as befits the Viognier grape. Soft and lush, slightly oily, delightfully supple, and a smooth white.
FACT : The label depicts two men cycling, evoking the beautiful bike rides through the vineyards. In the past, the winemaker would cycle through the vineyards with the idea of one day making a top-notch wine. Well, many years later, they've succeeded.
