Persoonlijke gegevens
Comando G La Bruja de Rozas 2024 is a pure, elegant Garnacha from the Sierra de Gredos. This wine displays freshness, minerality, and precision, with red fruit and floral notes. Made from old vines on granite, organically farmed, and bottled with minimal intervention. Light chilling enhances its finesse and purity.
A modern classic from Gredos
La Bruja de Rozas is the calling card of Comando G , founded by Fernando García and Daniel Gómez Jiménez-Landi. Since 2008, they have been bringing forgotten mountain vineyards back to life and demonstrating just how refined Garnacha can be: light-footed, energetic, and transparent.
Origin and terroir
The grapes come entirely from Cebreros in the Sierra de Gredos, part of the DO Vinos de Madrid . High-altitude plots (approx. 850–900 m) on poor granite and sandy soils ensure cool nights, slow ripening, and distinct, stony minerality. The mountain climate preserves freshness and precision.
Grape varieties and vineyard
100% Garnacha (Grenache) from old, low-yield vines. The plots are scattered among pine trees and granite blocks. Farming is organic and largely biodynamic; manual harvesting and strict selection guarantee pure fruit and site expression.
Vinification and aging
Partially whole clusters, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in open vats and barrels. Followed by 7–9 months of aging in used, larger oak barrels without new wood. Bottling with minimal intervention to preserve the terroir signature.
Tasting note
Bright ruby red. Aroma of red cherry, raspberry, rose petals, and fine herbs with a stony undertone. Juicy opening, lively acidity, and silky tannins. The finish is long, clean, and elegant; more Burgundian finesse than classic warmth.
Fun facts
- “La Bruja de Rozas” means “the witch of Rozas”.
- 2024 is the first year fully vinified in the new cellar.
- Limited production, also including a small number of magnums.
- Cebreros has few hectares; Comando G plays a crucial role in the preservation and development of the region.
Serving suggestions & food pairing
Serve at 15–16 °C and let breathe for 20–30 minutes. Delicious with grilled lamb, poultry, mushroom risotto, roasted vegetables, charcuterie, and soft cheeses.

They had to source new vineyards for the 2024 La Bruja, one from El Tiemblo, as the main vineyard delivered only 9,000 kilos of grapes because of the frost (it can produce up to 30,000 kilos in a normal year). So, this is a regional Gredos red from the Cebreros part. It has more fruit and is rounder and juicier than the 2023, but it still delivers very pretty aromas of violets and wild herbs. It has a fine-boned mouthfeel with chalky tannins. It comes in at 14% alcohol, with good freshness and balance. 22,678 bottles and 242 magnums produced. It was bottled in August 2025.

Grilled grapefruit, with a smoked herb touch to the ethereal red fruit and iron notes. Firm and medium-bodied with fine, chalky tannins, herbs and red berry fruit without much flesh. This is super drinkable. Enjoy now.

Three young but already very famous winemakers - Fernando Garcia ( Bodegas Marañones ), Daniel Gómez Jimenez Landi ( Bodegas Jimenez Landi ) and Marc Isart ( Bodegas Bernaveleva ) - are responsible for the Command G. with the intention to further the Madrid Regio de Grenache grape to develop. All three winemakers make top grenaches under their individual label that can compete with the famous Chateaneuf wines, especially when you consider the price. The area is ideal for the Grenache (high, warm during the day with significant cooling, substantial lime soil). Their vines are rooted in mainly granite soil vineyards at an altitude of at least 800 meters and are between 50 and 80 years old. Comando G was the name
in Spain for one of those Japanese cartoon series of the 80s. Daniel Landi and his friends have used this and Comando G stands for Comado Grenache where their mission is to make the best Grenache in the world. This is one of the most exciting new projects in Spain!
