Description
The 2023 Serge Dagueneau & Filles Pouilly-Fumé Tradition is a refined white wine from the Loire Valley in France, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This wine is vinified traditionally, with direct pressing and maturation on fine lees, which contributes to its complexity and depth.
The Serge Dagueneau & Filles Pouilly-Fumé Tradition is bright straw yellow in the glass with an expressive bouquet of exotic fruits such as passion fruit, lychee and mango, complemented by mineral notes characteristic of the terroir, and floral hints of acacia blossom and boxwood. On the palate, the wine is lively and fresh, with flavors of green apple, tropical fruit and a hint of lemon-lime peel, supported by a mineral undertone.
This Pouilly-Fumé is versatile and goes well with: Seafood: Oysters Rockefeller, grilled shrimp. Fish in sauce or grilled. Grilled chicken or turkey, Fresh goat cheese.
About Serge Dagueneau
Serge Dagueneau was a nephew of Didier Dagueneau and ran his own wine estate, which is now managed by his daughters Valérie and Stéphanie. Domaine Serge Dagueneau & Filles is a renowned family estate located in Les Berthiers, Pouilly-sur-Loire, in the heart of the Loire Valley. The estate's vineyards cover approximately 17 hectares and are located on the best plots of Pouilly-Fumé. The family works with great precision and a deep respect for the terroir, which allows their wines to retain an expressive and mineral style. The family works as naturally as possible, with minimal intervention and a focus on biodiversity
Serge Dagueneau & Filles wines are known for their refined minerality, lively acidity and aromatic complexity. Thanks to the flint soils, the wines often have a characteristic smoky touch, which is a typical characteristic of Pouilly-Fumé.
