Description
Oak Ridge Winery is the oldest operating winery in Lodi, California, built in 1934. It is owned by the Maggio & Reynolds families and produces estate wines under several separate wine labels. The winery itself was once a wine cooperative, which was purchased by the Maggio and Reynolds families in 2002.
The Old Soul Chardonnay consists of 95% chardonnay supplemented with 5% sauvignon blanc for freshness. It has been aged for 12-16 months on 100% French oak. This wood-aged Old Soul chardonnay has a full body with the characteristic fatty and creamy in the taste. The wine has a beautiful straw yellow color with a golden shine with aromas of gold delicious apple, grilled pineapple and notes of vanilla with crème brulee crust. This Chardonnay is medium to full bodied and has a clear, balanced acidity with a persistent long finish. Delicious with oily fish such as sea bass, salmon, tuna or trout, but also certainly tasty as an accompaniment to pork.

ITALIAN HERITAGE, LODI ROOTS
The story revolves around family, agriculture and viticulture. Angelo Maggio arrived in Lodi in 1906, immigrating from the Italian coast of Genoa with his wife, Louisa. The first cuttings were planted in 1928 on the grounds of their first farm, laying the groundwork for the long, winding journey that culminates in the manufacturing center that is Oak Ridge Winery. Originally built in 1934, the winery itself was once a winemaker's cooperative. As multi-generational farmers, Angelo, his son Roy and eventually his grandson Rudy were active participants, growing grapes to supply winemakers across the country. When the property came up for sale in 2002, Roy's son, Rudy, saw this as an opportunity to build on their long history of grape growing by producing quality wines of their own. His intentions went beyond just reviving a piece of history; the Maggio family transformed it into a state-of-the-art winery capable of meeting the quality, style and volume demands of a growing and evolving market.
Rudy's three daughters, each vintners in their own right, now oversee operations at Oak Ridge Winery, with an emphasis on hospitality, brand building and expansion. A multi-generational farm, their vineyards, along with their father's, cover 2,500 acres in the Lodi American Viticultural Area (AVA).
Oak Ridge Winery is located in Lodi - The town of Lodi and the eponymous wine region that surrounds it is a historically rich agricultural region. The vineyards in Lodi benefit from temperate summers thanks to the cooling Sacramento Delta, and some vines are over 100 years old. Oak Ridge Winery is the oldest operating winery in Lodi, California, built in 1934. The area's unique Mediterranean climate, with warm days and evening breezes along the coast, is ideal for growing world-class grapes.
