Description
Domaine Lamarche is best known for the Monopole La Grande Rue which has the vineyards of DRC La Tache and DRC Romanee Conti as direct neighbours. In any case, Domaine Lamarche has vineyards on the best locations of the Cote de Nuits.
Lamarche gained fame under Francois Lamarche. His daughter Nicole joined the company in 2006 and took over completely when Francois died suddenly in 2013. In the years that followed, she changed course. She started working biodynamically and now uses only 50% new oak (her father 70-100%). Everything is done by hand.
Since 2018, Nicole has had her name on the label instead of her father Francois.
This wine is made from various plots planted in 1979 and from young vines from various large orchards including Grand Cru. The grapes for this wine come from a plot in Concoeur-et-Courboin, located on the hills just above Vosne-Romanée. The vineyard is characterized by a chalky soil, which contributes to the minerality and freshness of the wine.
The 2022 Côte de Nuits-Villages from Domaine Nicole Lamarche is a lively and elegant wine that reflects the unique character of the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits region. Bright ruby red with fresh red fruit aromas, subtle floral notes and refined structure, this wine offers an engaging drinking experience for lovers of authentic Burgundy wines. Light and fragrant, with delicate yet peppery tannins provide a lively length. An impressive wine at a competitive price.
