2021 One Chain Vineyards The Wrong Un' Shiraz Cabernet

One Chain works with growers to source fruit from some of South East Australia's most established regions. Each wine has great varietal definition combined with our signature vibrancy and freshness. These are wines that are immediately enjoyable, yet authentic expressions of the variety and place. The wines are inspired by a love for Australia's national sport. Indeed, the name One Chain is the imperial measurement for 22 yards, or the length of a cricket field. However, you don't have to be an expert on the game to be impressed by the understated, elegant style of the Chardonnay and the bright red fruit and subtle oak of the Shiraz Cabernet.

The Wrong Un (Shiraz-Cabernet) is a cricket term and is a spun throw off the leg. The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested in the cool of the night from vineyards in South East Australia. The grapes are destemmed and pressed in static and rotating fermentation vats and fermented on the skins for approximately seven to ten days, at temperatures between 18 and 26 degrees. The aging takes place 75% in stainless steel and 25% in used oak barrels. The One Chain Vineyards The Wrong Un is a rich, well-balanced example of the classic Aussie blend. Lush black fruit in combination with notes of wood spices, licorice and cassis provide a delicious, velvety aftertaste. We don't know anyone who doesn't like this wine. Excellent price/quality.
