Description
In the 1960s, Giuseppe Inama, the founder of this renowned wine estate, started buying small parcels of vineyards in the heart of 'Soave Classico'. The area was originally planted with the old "Graecanicum" (native to Greece) variety. This name was subsequently converted to "Garganega" in the local dialect. His idea was to collect only top quality vineyards from old vine Garganega, and from them make a wine capable of restoring Soave's reputation. Today Inama counts as a reference for both white and red wines in Soave.
This Soave Classico Vigneti di Foscarino is a pure expression of Garganega that is both fermented and matured in oak. Those six months of barrique have developed the natural structure of the wine and the generous sense of volume that it shows on the palate. Apricot and passion fruit are followed by almond and light saffron spice. Very complex in the mouth with many layers based on a silky soft almond cream and it builds slowly and steadily through the long, very long finish. Some citrus in the aftertaste. Never exuberant, medium-bodied, layered and silky and so perfectly balanced. Delicious with a chicken dish with fried fennel and béchamel.
ABOUT SOAVE CLASSICO DOC
Soave is a small town in northern Italy, east of Verona. The small fortified town is one of the most beautiful origin areas in Italy for white wines. Soave is located at the foothills of the Alps with a beautiful view over the Po Valley. Made here one of the most beautiful white wines in Italy with great storage potential. The character of a Soave (Classico) is partly determined by the type of soil (terroir) on which the vineyard is planted. For this reason a distinction is made between Soave DOC and Soave Classico DOC. A small part of the Soave Classico is also bottled as Soave Classico Superiore DOCG. This only applies to wines where yields in the vineyard are lower and maturation on the lie has taken longer.

Wijnhuis
Wine house Inama is located near the northern Italian city of Verona. The Inama family has been producing wines for more than 40 years and is the only activity that focuses entirely on them. Wijnhuis Inama is now run by Stefano and Guiseppe Inama, the 3rd generation, with the vision: producing various wines in which, despite the styles and trends of the moment, they mainly want to make wines where their vision of the beautiful country is sufficiently represented. . Therefore, an organic agricultural system is used because it produces better fruit. Wijnhuis Inama follows its own course and has therefore developed its own know-how, without consulting all kinds of experts and wine gurus. They believe in wine that generates emotions and therefore prefer to taste "blind".
