This delightful Cabernet Sauvignon has an inviting nose with notes of vanilla, toasted oak and a hint of leather. On the palate aromas of cherries and berries complemented by nuts, vanilla and caramel. Tough tannins frame the beautiful flavours of blackberries and blueberries leading to a smooth, lush finish. A powerful wine, ripe and robust with seductive aromas.

This wine from Hahn Winery comes from excellent vineyards from all over California, mainly from Lodi and Paso Robeles where a somewhat warmer climate prevails and the grapes can fully ripen. The areas are known for the influx of daily fog and sea breezes which contribute to the stylish character of this wine and is a gift from nature.

The Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 9 months in French oak barrels, 55% of which are new, which enhances the mouthfeel and develops a subtle, spicy aroma.

Tastes good with steak and also with hamburgers. Also delicious with an Italian ravioli bolognese.

Hahn winery is located in Monterey County, one of the 58 counties in California. The area is breathtakingly beautiful and has an ideal climate and excellent conditions for growing wine. Hahn winery cultivates, in a sustainable manner, approximately 650 hectares of vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands, as well as another 461 hectares in nearby Arroyo Seco AVA. The vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands consist of 4 farmlands located on a high, hilly area, overlooking the Salinas valley. The precisely planted vines are guaranteed abundant morning sun. The Pinot Noirs of this winery owe their intensity and complexity to the beautiful soil structure and good drainage. The wind is also an important factor. As the Salinas Valley warms up during the day, the air rises and is replaced by the cool air from the lower and cooler Monterey Bay, creating a wind tunnel, as it were.

As early as 1790, Spanish missionaries discovered the rare soils and favorable climate of the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey and planted vines there. Some 200 years later, when founder Nicolaus (Nicky) Hahn and his wife Gaby bought estates in the Highlands, cattle, sheep and horses roamed the hills. Vineyards were only a secondary concern.

After discovering that the land he had bought was ideal for viticulture, Nicky acted quickly, releasing the first Hahn wine from the Santa Lucia Highlands (SLH) in 1980. After hard work, Nicky's dream of designating SLH as an official American wine-growing region came true in 1991.

Currently, Hahn Family Wines is managed by Philip, the son of Nicky and Gaby. Santa Lucia Highlands is famous worldwide for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that are made there.

The wines from winery Hahn are all real quality wines made from the finest, hand-picked fruit.
