The El Vinculo Crianza is a 100% pure Tempranillo. The El Vinculo comes from organic vineyards where only 20 hectoliters per hectare are harvested. The wine was aged for 18 months in new American and French oak, followed by a minimum of 6 months of bottle aging. In the glass, the Vinculo is dark purple. On the nose, we detect ripe fruit (cherries and strawberries), wood, minerals, and vanilla. The taste is modern in style with smooth, clean black cherries, wild strawberries, vanilla, and orange peel. It is very stylish and silky smooth to the finish. A very fine wine with an excellent price-quality ratio. The wine is now perfectly ready to drink and has a drinking window until 2025+.

One of the many dreams of Alejandro Fernández (Pesquera, Condado de Haza, Dehesa La Granja) has also become a reality. This leading genius winemaker wanted to produce a great wine in La Mancha. During one of his travels, he discovered good, old Tempranillo vines that had adapted perfectly to the local climatic conditions. Provided it is well cared for, Tempranillo (Cencibel) yields excellent results in La Mancha. A beautiful, typical building from La Mancha, near the windmills of Campo de Criptana and next to a railway station, was transformed into a modern winery. From the very beginning, Alejandro Fernández aimed to produce limited quantities of top-quality wine. The name 'El Vínculo' is a tribute to the old family winery in the Duero wine region. The climate in La Mancha is extremely continental, with freezing winters (-15°C) and scorching summers (+45°C). Direct exposure to the sun's rays is enormous: no less than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year! The mountains surrounding the entire region block the bulk of the precipitation. No more than 300-400 mm falls here annually, and long periods of drought are a scourge for conventional viticulture. The application of carefully dosed drip irrigation is therefore necessary to harvest top-quality grapes here.

In terms of success, only Vega Sicilia from Ribera del Duero can compete with the Pesquera wines of Alejandro Fernández. Fernández makes wines of a rich and exceptional character at relatively realistic prices, and he is therefore the archetype of a 'success story' in modern times. Born in 1932, he left school at age 14 and was brought up in the fields. His 'curriculum vitae' therefore includes professions such as carpenter, farrier and inventor of numerous agricultural machines that were supposed to facilitate the processing of the beet fields, among other things. However, he dreamed with his wife Esperanza and their 4 daughters to grow wine with international allures.

In 1972, through his agricultural machinery business, he obtained a loan that enabled him to launch into wine growing. One of his first assistants (and mentor), the oenologist Teofilo Reyes, will have a defining influence on the style of the wine by putting more emphasis on the ripeness of the grapes than ripening in barrel. At a time when Spanish viticulture is declining and vines are being torn out to be replaced by beets, Fernández plants vines and markets his first wine in 1975. Unlike most Spanish wines that age and sell in cask cellars when they reach their maturity, the Pesquera wine matures in the bottle following the example of the great Bordeaux. Very sober ruby-purple color, a lot of fruit, typical wood, remarkable maturity and intensity, with a beautiful structure and a lot of tanines, because of these characteristics the Pesquera wines are considered as a current measure of the potential of the Spanish wines.
