Bodegas Tridente is also part of Juan Gil, a family business founded in 1916 in the center of the city of Jumilla and is the champion of putting the Jumilia on the map as a (top) wine region. True to its origins, this winery has seamlessly merged tradition and technology with respect for the environment. Juan Gill is also the creator of the famous Clio and the world famous El Nido.
Tridente is located in Castilla y Leon and is a 100% Tempranillo that has matured for no less than 15 months in French oak. The Tempranillo grapes used to produce this wine come from very old vines with very little production in the areas of Villanueva de Campeán and El Pego, in the province of Zamora. These vineyards were planted a long time ago on a top layer of gravel with sandy soils so the vines have to work. The fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks and then the wine matures for around 15 months in French oak barrels. In the nose we smell aromas of toasted oak, graphite, balsamic vinegar, incense and black fruit. In the mouth the wine is medium to full bodied and has a firm aftertaste with some toasted bread and nuts in the aftertaste. Like all Juan Gil wines, this Tridente is a wine with a great price/quality ratio.

In Castilla y León you will find Bodegas Tridente, a small winery that specialises in creating wines from Tempranillo and the indigenous varieties Tinta de Toro and Prieto Picudo. The climate of Castilla y León is perfectly suited to Tempranillo, with icy winds in winter and hot humid summers, Bodegas Tridente is able to produce wines with depth and body, whilst still remaining elegant with a distinct acidity.
The true beauty of the wines are rooted in the history of the vines. Some of the grapevines are over 100 years old, producing extremely low yields of grapes with intensely concentrated flavours.
