Description
Bodegas Tridente is also part of Juan Gil, a family business founded in 1916 in the centre of the town of Jumilla and a champion of putting Jumilia on the map as a (top) wine region. True to its origins, this winery has seamlessly fused tradition and the latest technology with respect for the environment. Juan Gill is also the creator of the famous Clio and the world-famous El Nido.
Tridente is located in Castilla y Leon and is a 100% Tempranillo that has been aged for no less than 15 months in French oak. The Tempranillo grapes with which this wine is produced come from very old vines with very little production in the areas of Villanueva de Campeán and El Pego, in the province of Zamora. These vineyards were planted a long time ago on a top layer of gravel with sandy soils so the vines have to work. The fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks and then the wine ages for around 15 months in French oak barrels. On the nose we smell aromas of toasted oak, graphite, balsamic, incense and black fruit. On the palate the wine is medium-to-full bodied and has a firm finish with some toasted bread and nuts in the aftertaste. Like all wines from Juan Gil, this Tridente is a wine with a great price/quality ratio.

Blackcurrants, plums, bay leaves and dried spices on the nose. Some caramel and walnut. It’s full-bodied with creamy tannins. Rich and polished with a spicy, flavorful finish. Vegan. Drink or hold.

Bright purple. Intense cherry, blueberry and floral pastille scents on the spice-accented nose and in the mouth. Round and fleshy in style, with a spine of juicy acidity providing lift and structure to sweet black and blue fruit and mocha flavors. Closes with gentle grip and very good persistence, the velvety tannins framing the wine's sweet fruit.

In Castilla y León you will find Bodegas Tridente, a small winery that specialises in creating wines from Tempranillo and the indigenous varieties Tinta de Toro and Prieto Picudo. The climate of Castilla y León is perfectly suited to Tempranillo, with icy winds in winter and hot humid summers, Bodegas Tridente is able to produce wines with depth and body, whilst still remaining elegant with a distinct acidity.
The true beauty of the wines are rooted in the history of the vines. Some of the grapevines are over 100 years old, producing extremely low yields of grapes with intensely concentrated flavours.
