Description
The Tenute Pieralisi Caccialepre Rosso Piceno is a blend of 85% Montepulciano and 15% Sangiovese. The juicy fruit of the south (Montepulciano) thus meets the fresh acidity of a Chianti (Sangiovese). The grapes come from the vineyard called Colle del Sole, located in the municipality of Maiolati Spontini, is characterized by its soil rich in clay and silt. The vineyards of Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes are grown in the central part of the Colle del Sole hill, on 4 hectares of gently hilly terrain. The average height is 120 meters above sea level. The grapes selected for the production of Caccialepre are harvested in 2 times, mid-September for Sangiovese and mid-October for Montepulciano.
The wine undergoes a traditional red vinification in stainless steel vats. The alcoholic fermentation lasts about 25 days, of which the first 20 days on the skins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for about 12 months in large oak barrels before being bottled.
The wine has a ruby red color in the glass. In the nose, the Caccialepre Rosso Piceno is fresh and floral with scents of violets and roses along with clear nuances of red fruits such as strawberries and plums. After some oxygen, notes of liquorice, some oak and leather also emerge. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, fresh and elegant with the right amount of tannin. Hearty yet structured. Well balanced with a pleasantly lingering fruity finish.

Owned since the 1960s by one of the most famous families of entrepreneurs and winemakers in the Marche region, the Pieralisi estate was created with the creation of the Monte Schiavo winery in 1976 in Maiolati Spontini, in the province of Ancona, in the heart of the classic production area of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. The attachment to the country and the region and the passion for innovation have guided this family's path since Adeodato Pieralisi founded the first workshop for the maintenance of agricultural machinery in 1888.
Forever guided by a deep respect for the land and its natural processes, and by the belief that authenticity at origin is the key to creating a quality product, Pieralisi Estates are now certified as organic farming and are fully compliant with the policy for the production of vegan wines.
Since the foundation of Monte Schiavo about 20 years ago, the Pieralisi family has strived to get the best out of their vineyards. The Tenuta Pieralisi range represents the culmination of their project — leveraging the expertise of winemaker Simone and renowned consultant Carlo Ferrini — to create a top layer of premium wines that confirm the individuality of the indigenous varieties Verdicchio and Montepulciano. Carlo Ferrini has worked as a consultant at some of Italy's finest estates — optimizing cloning, rootstock, vine density and pruning — to create wines that are a true expression of the vineyard. At the same time, Simone has revitalized the cellar and added an extra layer of vibrancy and expression to the wines, making Monte Schiavo a producer of top quality authentic wines.
