2008 Champagne Dom Perignon Rosé

The Dom Perignon Rosé from 2008 only came on the market at the end of 2021 and will be distributed sparingly by LVMH over the coming years. This champagne was released in very limited quantities and only a handful came to the Netherlands. For all Dom Pérignon champagne, global demand exceeds supply. Dom Pérignon created the 2008 rosé vintage with a bold blend made with pinot noir grapes from the "Chants de Linottes" plots in Hautvillers and the "Vauzelles" plots in Aÿ. The search for harmony that defines Dom Pérignon arises here from contrasts and contradictions that provide a charged balance. Where contradiction becomes harmony full of surrender.

Vincent Chaperon, the current cellar master of Dom Pérignon who took over from Richard Geoffroy on January 1, 2019, says that after 12 years in the cellar, the rosé began to reveal the harmony we were looking for a year and a half ago. He likes the tension between the acidity, tannins and umami character; there was an interaction with these three dimensions and it gives the wine a vibration and a sense of salty minerality. With the rosé, the team wanted to respect Dom Pérignon's profile, but at the same time push it in the direction of more concentration. The result: a rosé champagne with more power enhanced by the structure of the Aÿ Pinot Noir.

The 2008 Dom Perignon Rosé shows incredible fruit depth with strawberry, cherry and phenolics. Full and layered with an incredible, three-dimensional element in the wine. This is so transparent and dynamic with dark fruit, but it remains vibrant and bright. Sophisticated and precise, it goes on and on. Really savory, fresh and incredibly pinot noir.
