Roupeiro
Roupeiro
The Roupeiro is a moderately productive southern Portuguese grape with a lot of character. The Roupeiro is mainly planted in the Portuguese wine region of Alentejo. Most winemakers there mix it with the juice of other grapes from the region such as Antão Vaz and Perrum. That is to say, the Roupeiro is planted in many more places in Portugal. But under many different names. In the Douro they usually call him Síria, but other times Alvaro de Sousa or Códaga. In the Algarve they talk about Sabro or Crato Branco.
